The Antony/Wilcove Parish Council met on March 10th, 2015, to discuss a range of village matters, including ongoing maintenance, community issues, and future plans. Key decisions were made regarding village upkeep and addressing resident concerns.

Key Decisions

  • The Council agreed to accept a quote for cutting specified grassed areas in Antony and Wilcove Village. The Clerk will finalize invoicing details, confirm the number of cuts per year (with a change to two cuts per year for the Antony pound), and request public liability insurance from the contractor.
  • The Parish Council agreed not to display planning applications on the village notice boards.

Community Maintenance & Improvements

  • The foreshore area near the Wilcove Inn has been tidied.
  • A new 'Wilcove' sign has been ordered, paid for, and is awaiting delivery. Councillor Gary Shepherd will install it upon arrival.
  • Repairs to the wall on Coombe Hill are currently in hand.
  • Discussions are underway to arrange for the cutting of footpaths in Wilcove.
  • Steps are being taken to address the poor condition of footpath No 5 leading to Antony School, with a quote being forwarded for repair for consideration.

Addressing Community Concerns

  • Complaints regarding vehicles parked at Pengelly Park are ongoing; Councillor Mrs P Knott will contact car owners again to try and resolve the issue.
  • A letter regarding parking problems for residents of Pengelly Close, Wilcove, will be forwarded to Cornwall Council's Housing Department.
  • The latest police report (covering 1/02/15 – 28/03/15) indicated one incident of fraud in the Antony/Wilcove area.

Important Updates & Future Planning

  • A Tree Preservation Order for Cove Meadow, Wilcove, has been issued by Cornwall Council; a copy will be displayed on the Wilcove Parish Council notice board.
  • The Parish Council is exploring the possibility of including Parish Council news in the local Wilcove Community Association news.
  • The Neighbourhood Plan will be added to the agenda of the next Parish Council meeting for discussion.

The next Parish Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14th, 2015, at 7:30 PM in the Village Hall, Wilcove.
