Key Decisions

  • Defibrillator Consideration: The Council received a
    demonstration and overview of defibrillators. The cost to the
    Parish would be £3,000 + VAT with a £300 annual charge. Funding
    options and optimal location (within 3 minutes of an incident) were
    discussed. Councillors agreed to consider this further at a later
    date.
  • Planning Application Supported: Councillors supported planning
    application PA16/07593 for Hillcot, Antony Hill.

Community Projects & Updates

  • Noticeboard Installation: Replacement noticeboards and posts have
    been collected. Councillor Carter will arrange installation of the
    Wilcove noticeboard, while Councillors Pidgen and Lobb will install
    the Antony noticeboard. Councillor Shepherd is to obtain additional
    locks.
  • Play Park Maintenance: Repair work on the Antony Play Park
    equipment has been successfully completed. Additionally, the
    Wilcove/Antony Playpark needs fence repair and treatment for its
    wooden equipment. Councillors Pidgen and Lobb will organise fence
    repair, Councillor Shepherd will purchase treatment, and Councillor
    Coward will purchase weed suppressant for the climbing frame area.
  • Antony Churchyard Path: An area in the closed churchyard, used as
    an access path to the school, is muddy and slippery. Councillors
    Coward and Pidgen will visit the site to review options for remedial
    action.
  • Pengelly Close Issues: Cornwall Housing has yet to address issues
    at 1 Pengelly Close, and parking on verges remains a problem. The
    Clerk will contact Cornwall Housing again for an update.
  • Wilcove to Antony Footpath: There has been no response regarding
    the proposed footpath from Tremayne. The Clerk will re-email
    Tremayne Carew Pole.
  • Bus Stop at Blerrick Farm: Discussions are underway regarding
    erecting a bus stop. The Clerk will investigate funding options with
    Sheviock Parish Council and seek comments from Adrian Drake of Cormac.
  • Carew Arms Lighting: Residents have noted the lighting on the
    Carew Arms is too bright. The Clerk will email Tremayne to request
    that it be dimmed.

Financial Overview

  • Accounts Approved: The Finance reports and Bank Reconciliation as
    of August 31st, 2016, were reviewed and approved.
  • Bank Balance: The bank account balance is £13,741.
  • Year-to-Date Figures: Total Receipts Year-to-Date are £3,905.
    Total Payments Year-to-Date (excluding Solar funding) are £5,970.
  • Available Funds: Parish Council funds available (excluding Solar
    Funding) stand at £9,603, with £733 available from Community Benefit
    funding.
  • VAT Reimbursement: HMRC has reimbursed the Parish Council £781.17
    for VAT incurred between April 1st, 2015, and June 30th, 2016.
  • Approved Payments: Payments totaling £3,681.45 were approved,
    covering general maintenance, clerking wages and administration, bus
    shelter costs, moorings, and play area upkeep.

Important Notes

  • Cornwall Fire and Rescue: The Clerk will organise for Cornwall
    Fire and Rescue to visit the next meeting to speak with councillors.
